In the afternoon we headed back into Newport. Along the way we geocached. We saw a "SKP" sign along side the road and went in and had a nice visit with "just" Al and his wife Nancy. They have a huge property and open it to SKP's for rv parking.
In town we wanted to get ice cream at Owen's but it was closed so we toured the museum across the road.
Headed to a restaurant at Diamond Lake that Al said was good and got there 10 minutes after it had closed. So back into Newport to the Riverfront Restaurant and a delicious steak dinner overlooking
the fast flowing Pend Oreille river.
The next day we went to Spokane. We had arranged to meet some Boomer SKP friends we have met at Quartzsite, AZ. We left early, of course, geocaching along the way. At downtown Spokane we went to Riverfront Park. It was the site of the 1974 World's Fair. We strolled around. Saw the falls from various bridges,
Bob enjoyed the wagon,
saw the art work and took a ride on the gondola over one of the falls.
After lunch at the Onion with Earl & Linda Hylton we headed up to Mt. Spokane. Up & up we went topping off at 5800+ feet above sea level.
Besides the incredible view of many, many lakes we found a geocache.
Trent & Nita were curious about geocaching so Donna showed them how it was done.
