After getting our motorhome organized, washed and waxed and securing our shed we headed out for the start of our summer travels. We went all of 7 miles to the Fairgrounds in Yuma for a Good Sam Rally. It was the first time we have been to one. We are amazed that of all the people here we haven't run into anyone we know. It is slightly ironic though that we are parked just ahead of a 5th wheel from Youngstown, Ohio and he had once lived in Salem.
We registered then walked around the few vendors. It was a smaller version of the Gypsy Journal rallies which we have worked here before. We stopped an chatted with Chris Yust who worked the GJ rallies. We have been so boggled about our motorhome insurance even changing states for a better rate. She reviewed our policy and made suggestions.
That evening we went out to the Red Lobster with Bob & Nancy Jones who we met several years ago when we were table mates on our Mexican Rivera cruise.
We weren't impressed with the GS Rally. We have come to the conclusion that there are few rver's and mostly weekend campers. It certainly was a whole different attitude and atmosphere from what we are used to.
A couple of nights there was entertainment
a Pet Parade
and people parade.
Bob watched the Air Show across the highway one day.
Move out day we hit the road by 7:30 and went the 8 miles to the Paradise Casino. Grabbed breakfast in the Casino. It's what we call paying the rent. Visited with Randy Vining who is camped here with his tribe.
