September 3rd we left Lee and Clay's in Palisade, CO. We got 10 miles from Utah and Bob felt the tires weren't right. We pulled over and he found a bulge so back to Grand Junction. Six new tires and $4200 lighter in the wallet we headed out at 5 pm for Moab. We pulled into our friend Millie's at 7 pm in time to see this beautiful butte with the setting sun highlighting it.
Our site is about 10' from the Colorado River. Again we have views of water (Donna's thing) and mountains (Bob's thing). It was hot while here so to avoid the afternoon 90's heat we would get in the Jeep and head to the National Parks in our A/C car. Our first one was the Canyonlands. The highlight was looking down on the Green River which we canoed for 2 weeks in September 2007.
Plenty of other pretty views.
Another day we went to the Arches. This formation is the Judges near the Courthouse.
The goal was delicate arch.
The highlight was seeing a rainbow at this point.
Bob read on Facebook about using Brillo on windows to clean them. We now have a great view out our windshield. Do you agree?
We went out to breakfast at the Moab Diner and Donna got to chatting with 2 couples in a booth nearby. They were talking about jeeping the La Sal Mountain Trail. We asked if we could go with them. We thought we had done this before but it was a lot more rough then we thought.
Pretty flowers on this bush.
Tom and Marlene were the leaders.
Doug and Dorothy were the tail gunner's.
There were pretty lakes and mountains, of course.
Back home we sat out and had happy hour with this heron and Millie.

I always worry about my tires - it felt good to get a whole new set. I'll bet you felt the same way. You have such a beautiful view from your site - and so close to the water. I love the mountains, too, but would rather have a good water view. :)
