More Yuma
Bob worked for 4 days on the solar. He built this rack for the solar to put it above anything that might shadow it. Yes, the panels fold down or else we would have to remain stationary as we couldn't go under the overpasses. It is really working great now. I went shopping and visiting. Stopped at the SKP Park. Visited with Art Barkley and Pat Reno. Also saw Linda Scott. She is #3 on the waiting list. We are about #50. Won't be too many years till we get our lot. Found an upholster to mend our dinette seat cushion. I went to the Y at the Foothills and visited with Shirley Bradley.
Here is our site at the VFW/BLM.
Friday evening we went to the Moose Lodge, Bob for dinner and me for dancing. We went to Micky B's afterwards. He plays a mean piano and the dance floor is about 15' square and it's combat dancing. Saturday we went to the Az. Market. The large flea market. Curt & Dottie pulled in nearby and we had a lovely visit with them. Sunday the 4 of us went to the Moose for their breakfast. Back home Bob went up on the roof for more work and I did 3 weeks of laundry. Curt & Dottie went to the flea market. Went to out to dinner with them for steak & lobster. Hmmm. I better be careful or will find that 50#.
Monday we had an early appointment to see our Yuma Doctor. Got lab work drawn and then went to breakfast. Back home for more work and play. We went out to dinner at Golden Corral with Curt and Dottie. Veterans ate free. We each had 3-4 plates fulls and I used up my weeks supply of WW points. The line was real long and we thought it would take us a couple of hours in line but it only took about 1/2 hour.
Tuesday was our trip to Algodones early in the morning. Went to tons of pharmacies pricing medicines. I got 3 months of two different types of my med as I couldn't find the one I had been using. That one was $13 a bottle, this time I got 2 bottles for $13. Same amount. We also brought home our favorite bottle of tequila and a bottle of Kaula for Dottie. It only took about 15 minutes in line at the border this month. It will be 1 1/2 hours Dec & Jan. We then stopped at the new casino and met 3 other Boomer couples for the 2 for 1 buffet. Two days in a row of buffets. I better be careful
Wednesday I went to Curves then for a prescription at Walmart. The 1/2 hour wait for it only cost me $100 in merchandise while they were filling it. Curt and Dottie left but Janet and Doug took their place. The four of us went to happy hour at Yuma Lakes where a bunch of the WINs are parked. Then another shopping trip to Sam's Club.
Our last day in Yuma was spent running around. Picked up the wind generator that was being checked by Starlight Solar. It's OK. Checked out the Elk's for parking when we come back and had lunch. A little more shopping for the Thanksgiving event in Borrego Springs. Back home dancing at the VFW, quick supper then a Sox Hop at Country Roads RV park where Bea and Ken have a lot.
It's official now. We are # 50 at the SKP park and can now bid on a lot there. It would probably be a park model that would get us into the system and then we could swap it for an empty lot. I think that's how it works.
Friday was moving day. I went to Curves one last time, got the car lubed & oiled and a few more groceries while Bob readied the rig and we moved to Borrigo Springs, CA for the Win's Thanksgiving gathering that we are hosting.
