A Route to Roots

We left the motorhome with friends in Salem and took the Jeep on a 4 day, 3 state and 2 country trip.
Our first stop was at Henderson Harbor, NY
and the West View Lodge where Donna grew up.
It looked like this in the 1940's.

The other half of this building was added on and they lived in this home.
We enjoyed visiting and dining there.
When her parents retired they moved to this house at the end of the harbor.
The Islands that created the harbor.
Our second day we went to Alexandria Bay.
We went to Bill & Judy Ballway's home. They were Donna's neighbor's at one time.
Their home is right on the St. Lawrence River. What a view.
Bill took us for a ride on his pontoon boat up river.
We stopped at this restaurant.
While we were dining we watched this for entertainment.
This was our view across the river. Boldt Castle.
We continued around the Islands looking at huge mansions.
Came close to the 1000 Island Bridge.
A pirate boat is just off shore from their home.
In the afternoon we drove across that bridge and went to Kingston, Ontario to visit our neighbors, Gary and Nancy Grant, from Kofa RV park in Yuma. We forgot our camera and couldn't use the Iphone for pictures as we had it shut off. It would have cost us $.99 per minute to use it. We even had to go to McDonald's to use their WiFi to get their address.

Our third day on the road we stopped in Auburn, NY to visit Bud and Nancy McNeely who were friends of Donna's from her high school days. She dated Nancy's brother, BOB, in high school.
(See a pattern there?) But I guess we forgot to take pictures. We used to camp with them on the desert at Bouse, AZ near Quartzsite.

The 4th day after saying goodbye to them we headed to the Finger Lakes to pick up a couple of cases of wine at our favorite winery.
 The Thirsty Owl.
After tasting we each picked out 4 flavors and got 3 bottles each.
It was then on to her cousin Phil's home in Webster, NY. It was raining by this time and Phil had no trouble convincing us to spend the night. Especially with the delicious pot roast dinner he had made.
We continued home to Salem, stopping briefly in Lockport, NY to visit with some of our WIN friends. We moved the motorhome back to the Eagles, visited with Esther and Bill and "CRASHED"

Quite a trip. Should I be thankful that Ron's name isn't Bob?
