Before picking Wayne up one evening we went to the Bellagio.
Then to the Fremont Experience.
Showed Wayne the million dollars
and the largest gold nugget.
The next day went to Camping World and got a water bladder to resupply us with water when we are dry camping on the desert. On to Fry's Electronics. Bob's favorite store. Spent a long time and $ in there. We hit a few thrift stores to round out the shopping. In the evening we went to the clubhouse and played Pegs & Joker's with some people we met here last year when we were here.
Off to Fry's Electronics again for more shopping. We purchases a Wii system for me to workout and he to play games. Also Bob bought me a new camera for Christmas since my old one broke. Worked with techs online and it was going to cost $111 for repairs plus postage. So a new one cost the same and we didn't have the hassle.
We picked Wayne up in the evening on Wednesday. First we went to the Olive Garden so the guys could eat. I ate at home. Doing the 3 Day Diet. But the waiter was funny when I ordered ice cream. I am allowed 1 cup and there was at least 2 cups of the most delicious vanilla ice cream I have ever eaten. It was all I could do to push that other cup away. Neither of the fellows helped and ate it.
We then went to the Stratosphere and took the elevator to the top and walked around. Awesome views of Vegas and the lights. Trying to figure where our rig was, the airport etc was fun.
Thursday we had breakfast at Arizona Charles. We both came away with extra cash for the second time this week. I did the laundry, vacuumed and worked out with my new Wii Fitness Plus. In the evening Andy and Mary picked us up and we went to a Comedy Show. They are NV residents and each morning tickets go online and they are cheaper and even free. They had told us about this show earlier in the week. There were only 12 people in the audience and if it wasn't for our interaction it wouldn't have been that great a show. But we had a ball heckling him. The first comment was that he was from Pittsburg and I yelled out "Go Browns" and it was off to the races.
Our last day in Vegas we picked up Wayne at 1pm and drove up to Valley of Fires State Park. It is unbelievable that just an hour away is all this beautiful red rock formations. We then drove thru the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and to our favorite campground. On to Hoover Dam. It was dark when we arrived, went thru security and to the Az side. Then back across the dam stopping briefly to let Wayne out. He walked across the dam taking pictures
and looking down despite a fear of heights. We were going to park in the garage but they wanted $7 and we would only be there for about 10 minutes so we recrossed the dam and waited until Wayne was across then picked him up. A total of 4 times across the dam. On to Boulder City for dinner at our favorite little cafe. We then stopped at the Railroad Pass for dessert. How about this $1 strawberry shortcake.
Our next stop was to Fry's. Bob wanted Wayne to see this HUGE electronic store. I bought the Wii Active as my daughter in law suggested it was a better workout. Took Wayne back to his hotel past the Luxor and the southern casino's. It was a full day. Almost 200 miles. We had a wonderful time here and visiting with Wayne really made it special.
Heading south now. And WARMER weather.
