Lakeside Living

Bob had a small lake on his property and my backyard was Lake Ontario when I was growing up. So we really enjoy it when we get to park by a lake. We are on Lake Ashtabula northwest of Fargo, SD. It is a COE park and also has non-reservable sites so when we arrived we had a great choice for our big rig.

We love to geocache and also do back roads. We went on the Sheyenne National Byway. Stopped frequently at POI's. Old churches,
houses, fords and possibly a pyramid.

Two days of overcast or rain followed. We worked on inside chores. Bob rewiring various things and Donna resizing 11 shirts to fit her new look. Reading, watching movies and interneting also occupied our time.

During the week more & more campers with boats arrived. A fishing tournament with a 89 two men teams arrived. Our neighbors across the way were very generous inviting us for venison appetizers at 5 and fried fish fillets were delivered to our door at 11pm one night.

We took a side trip to Jamestown to see the Buffalo museum.
While there we also geocashed at Medicine Wheel park and met the man who built this.

We did a Walmart run. We have been hooked up to electric which is included in most of the places we have been staying so we bought two small electric heater's for $5 each. We also hit thrift shops and got some real good quality shorts. Now if the weather would get warmer so we could use them. We just may have to head back to AZ.

Sunday was the last day of the tournament and we went to the restaurant where the awards were given out. Our neighbors took first place. They won almost $2000 so treated us to dinner and drinks. They got this huge trophy also that they keep for a year. Good job guys.
