America's Most Scenic Highway

The Beartooth & Chief Joseph highways are America's most scenic highway's. We decided to drive it in reverse from the way we did several years ago.

We passed thru a town that had a geocache in it and discovered it's history.
Stopped briefly in Red Lodge.

Bob thought the saying on the bus was neat. Little did we know that when we got up the next day we would have a neighbor who actually biked the highway the same day. She was biking from Bozeman, MT to Washington DC for a job and sightseeing along the way.

The scenery just got better & better.
And the road twistier and twistier.
We walked to an overlook.
It's in the center of the picture.

A geocache was here.
 Pretty lakes.
Higher & higher.

The pointed peak is the "Beartooth"

Down the other side.

A stop for ice cream at the "Top of World Store"
Pretty flowers.

Lily Lake. A side trip for 2 miles on a very rutted road to get there and guess what was back there. It must have been a WIN.

A waterfall.

 More Red Rock's.

 And a pretty lake.
