Canyons and Castles

While we were at Thermopolis we did a 190 mile loop. Beyond the town of Tensleep there is a canyon that Bob just had to see. Donna had already seen it on her first year on the road but it seemed all new to her.

Back at Tensleep we shared a salad then grabbed a cache behind this sign.
Our next stop was to go the Castle Gardens Scenic Overlook about 4 miles west of town. Interesting shapes.

After seeing the "Castles" we headed south from Tensleep. We had no idea it was going to be so beautiful with "More Red Rocks".

We really felt sorry for this rancher who has to live out here with all this beauty around him.
Continuing on we ran across this "rusty horse".
And an "The Nowood International Airport."

Of course no trip is without the wild animals.

And lots of empty.

This gave us a little pause.
Back on the highway to Thermopolis we drove north thru Wind River Canyon.

Approaching Thermopolis Bob spotted a Volcano? But our "home" was OK.

Cool trip. I especially liked the Castle Gardens. I don't know about you, but the only reason I remember seeing anything at all is by looking at my pictures.
