Here and There

After leaving Quartzsite where we had been in the area for 2 months we headed toward Phoenix. Our first stop was at the Escapee Park called North Ranch. We stayed for two nights on a full hook-up site. Bob wanted to equalize the batteries and I wanted to clean the inside real good.

But the main reason to stop here was to visit friends we met in 2009 near Chama, NM. We were with a group who wanted to do the Chama/Toltec Railroad ride and since we had done it two times before we decided to take the car, do back roads and end up at the restaurant where the train stops to feed the people. While there we meet Randy & Shirley Starr. They were so fascinated about our life style that this past September their house sold, they bought an RV and hit the road. They were here for the RV Boot Camp.

After their classes were over for the day we went to Wickenburg for dinner at the Mexican restaurant. We had such a wonderful visit.

Our next stop was back to Lake Pleasant Regional Park. We so enjoyed our stay here in November that this was a must. We drove to Cave Creek for lunch. Bob did research for the "best" hamburger's and he found Big Earl's. We ate at the counter with another jeep couple who lived a few streets away. We enjoyed each other's conversations.

We drove around all the roads at Lake Pleasant and spotted this interesting boat at the marina. The "Black Scorpion".

The reason we headed for the "big" city is Bob's co-worker John and his wife Cynthia were flying into Phoenix for 10 days and we wanted to get together. We met them on their way to the Grand Canyon for lunch at Chili's. Told them all the places we love and sent them on their way.

While at Lake Pleasant we heard burro's outside our motorhome and one morning we saw a coyote walking within feet of our motorhome. On our way to our next stop we finally saw a burro.

As usual we had our pretty pictures too.
