Fun & Friends

Bob's friend, John from his working days flew into Phoenix as his wife Cythnia had some meetings to attend. They wanted to see the Grand Canyon so we met them briefly for lunch and told them what not to miss on their return trip to Scottsdale.
We move into Scottsdale to Talking Stick Casino the day they returned. We met them at their motel and went to dinner.
The next day we took John to Fry's Electronics. It's an awesome place and besides spending money they browsed for 2 hours. Back at our motorhome we continued to visit. The 3 of us went out to dinner as Cynthia was still in meetings.
Bob took John to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Talison West home on Saturday while Donna stayed home. After Bob got back we went to dinnerwith Donna's cousin Ken and his wife Deanne.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Talking Stick Casino. It was very noisy and the spaces were very close together. Since we were only allowed 3 days we then moved to another casino 7 miles south. After breakfast we drove to Tortilla Flats to show them some awesome AZ scenery.
We stopped at Goldfield Ghost Town and watched a gunfight. 
Donna met some people there who lived in Chittenango and Henderson, NY where she had lived. Small world.

Stopped at the lookout to Canyon Lake.

Ate dinner at the restaurant in Tortilla Flats. The walls are wallpapered with dollar bills and there are more than one layer. If that places burns several 100,000 dollars will go up in smoke.

Their last day in town we went to the Desert Botanical Gardens. It was an awesome park made even more AWESOME by the Chihuly Glass displays. The pictures don't do it justice but here are several.



Then there were the people.
And the plants.
Our last day in Phoenix Jerry & Denise came to visit us with their daughter Deanne. We went to lunch at Famous Daves then one more quick trip to a different Fry's Electronics.
