Back Roads and Old Things

Another day of exploring the back roads. We have a New Mexico Delorme Atlas and Bob discovered an old RT52 thru the Cibola National Forest. Donna downloaded some geocachings and away we went. Our first stop was this General Store in the middle of nowhere.

Bob loved the door and the sign.

Then it was on thru prairie lands.

 Ranches some new,
                        some old.
 Cemeteries with geocaches.
On we went higher & higher into the forest and canyons.

Coming out the other side was the VLR (Very Large Array). Those white dot are huge dishes that listen to outer space.

Getting to be Linner time so we stopped in Magdalena.
We had the best meat ever. Talipa, fresh green beans, scalloped potatoes and a salad. Topped off with a peach cobbler al a mode. We were the last customer's of the day so the staff visited with us and were awed by our lifestyle. When we left the owner/chef gave us each a "Hug" and I bet she hits the road soon.
Along the way Bob was trying to avoid running over the snakes. Glad we didn't see any while cacheing.
