Valley of Fires and side trips

May 12
We moved to Valley of Fires NRA and this was our view. We had a huge site.
We drove into Carrizozo a few miles down the road. Walked around town.
Then it was out toward White Oaks geocaching along the way.
In 2009 we found one at the No Scum Allowed bar.
They have enlarged it since we were there adding an outdoor patio and stage.

May 13. We did an all day trip to check out Mountainair along the way we sited wildlife.

 Saw

Geocached.

Even geocached in the snow. (See Bob's red hat?)

 Checked out
And saw other interesting places along the way.

We again did another trip. This time we drove into the mountains near Ruidoso. The Forest Ranger told Bob not to miss the 12 mile drive to Ski Apache. As you can see we did.
On the way back to home we geocached and came across some interesting places.
 Fort Stanton.

Then there was Smokey Bear country.
