Apache Junction and "the" Trail

We spent a wonderful 3 days at Apache Junction Elk's Lodge.

Not only did we have a beautiful view of Superstition Mountain but our friends Gary & Audrey Wyatt and Bill & Esther Goodchild from our home town came by for a visit and a delicious dinner at the lodge.

Our second day we went shopping. First was Fry's Electronics which is Bob's "toy" store then a brief stop at Home Depot for more goodies. When we got back Denise & Jerry Siegle came by. They work camp in the area and we went out to dinner with them at Handlebar's Cafe.

Our third day we drove the Apache Trail from one end to the other and back.
The road turns into dirt for about half the drive. The scenery is beautiful.

Apache Lake

At the far end is Roosevelt Lake, the bridge over the Salt River and the dam.
On our way back we stopped at Tortilla Flats for linner.
