Hurrying Along

We left Topsham after washing the motorhome and drove to the Elk's Lodge at Littleton, NH. We had arranged to meet some friends from Salem who have just begun their fulltime rv adventure. You may remember Gary and Audrey from our Salem Ohio blog. We had a nice afternoon visit and then went out to dinner with them.

The next day we were headed for the Elk's Lodge at Malone, NY but we got such an early start it was 11:30 am when we arrived. It was way to early to get off the road. We continued another 3 hours and arrived at an American Legion in Sackets Harbor, NY about 9 miles from my hometown. After we got settled in, we went to visit my Uncle George, drove thru the Harbor one last time and headed home for much needed R&R.

Hurrying on we went back to the Wolcott Elk's Lodge. Parked and took off for the Thirsty Owl Winery near Romulus to pick up our favorite wine. We decided to eat before wine tasting and sat with a lovely couple from the Philly area.
They were most interested in our lifestyle.
Meet Yvonne and Kirk. We all then went to taste wine. Matt was our pourer and when he describes the wine he does it with poetry and funny stories about the wine. We met him in June and just had to go back and see him. My favorite wine is Diamond. Bob bought me my Christmas present. Diamonds. They are a girl's best friend.
We saw one of the locks on the Erie Canal on our drive.

Our next move was all of 36 miles to my cousin Phil and Anne's home at Webster, NY near Rochester. The four of us have become quite good friends. After lunch we took a drive up toward the lake stopping for ice cream. We had a lovely visit late into the night.

In the morning we went to tour the Eastman House. It was the home of George Eastman, the founder of Eastman Kodak. The house was beautiful and so were the gardens.

We went to the gallery in the museum that has the camera collection. We had a great lunch of seafood and lobster bisque (no Jill not as good as yours) then visited the rest of the day and watched TV.
