40 miles down the road we pulled into the Fairgrounds at Bismarck. The Win's group who are doing the Lewis & Clark Trail this summer arrived for a few days. A few of us came here a day early. We visited with Oneta & Bob all afternoon. 3 others came and we went to town in a driving rainstorm to a Mexican Restaurant. In the evening 5 of us played Pegs & Jokers. The last game took forever before Bob finally won and we could call it quits at 10:30 pm.
More came on Sunday & Monday. The usual Hugs & Mugs in the morning and circle in the afternoon. And Peg's & Joker's each evening.
We toured Ft. Abraham Lincoln State Park.
Gen. George Custer's house.
On-a-Slant Indian Village
and another fort outpost as a group on Monday.
The day the group went to Washburn (where we had just been) we went geocaching around Bismarck.
Wednesday the group
toured the State Capitol Building and the museum next door.
In addition to all that we made Walmart & Sam's Club runs, thrift store shopping and I did the Curves routine.
There was dining out most days.
It was getting very hot in the high 90's so after all the group had left we moved 35 miles south to Fort Rice State Historic Site to a campground with electricity for $15 a night. It was my birthday and Bob surprised me with white roses & a sentimental card. In the evening he treated me to the Red Lobster in Bismarck. Forgot to take a picture of my birthday desert but this is the end result.
