Great Time at Great Falls

We spent a week at Great Falls. Stayed at the Moose Lodge in Black Eagle on the north side of the Missouri River. It is Donna's home lodge. She joined it when on the Lewis & Clark Trail in 2004 with the SI's. It's the first time she's been back and actually attended a meeting. When we arrived there was a Farmer's Market going on. Had a delicious bratwurst lunch and bought some fruit & veggies.

We download a bunch of geocaches and went out and found some each day. This was Mark's Big Head cache. Found about 45 while here.

Donna went to Curves several times. We went out to eat many times. Friends of ours in WINs moved in here too so we visited a lot with Bob & Joanne.

We toured the Lewis & Clark Interpretative Center. Sat in on several films and lectures.

We went to Big Springs.
It puts out 150 million gallons per day.
Real clear water.
Saw the smallest river "Roe". It's 201'.
And the country's longest. The Missouri River is 2540 miles long, 200 miles longer than the Mississippi.
We drove downstream to Ryan Dam where the real "Great Falls" are. When L&C came up the river and saw this they said "Dam It" so it was, eventually.

It took them a month and 18 miles of portage several times to get around the 21 miles of
falls in this area.

This is Black Eagle Falls.

One day the river was still and this bridge reflection was so beautiful.
