Winnemucca

After two days at Fallon we headed further north. Donna does research for where we should park and there were two places in Winnemucca. The first was at Winner's Casino. It was downtown but we did find the parking lot out back for bigger vehicles. We unhitched the car and went to check on the other site. It is up Water Canyon Rd. 2 miles of dirt road to a BLM campground. Beautiful setting, just a few sites that were level and large enough with out trees so we could get solar. Back in town we got a bite to eat at the casino then headed out to the campsite. We took the first one. It's really the camphost site as there is a sewer hookup which we don't need to use.

We sat out and enjoyed the views, listening to the pretty song birds and the rippling stream nearby.
 The view out our windshield.

We then went geocaching. We met a cacher walking his dog. His "handle" sounded familiar. Sure enough we had gotten his cache at the rest area south of town. We took a drive further up the canyon. It only goes about one more mile from where we are.

Bob noticed an oil leak on the front axel of the car so early Saturday morning he headed to town to get it repaired. Just needs to watch it. He got a lube & oil while there.

The next day the ranger came by and chatted for quiet a while. We asked him where a good restaurant was and he told us about Ormachea's. It's a Basque restaurant. In the afternoon we headed to town to grab a few caches and go to dinner. The restaurant didn't open until 4:30 so we killed a 1/2 hour at the Winner Casino and we both more than doubled our bets.

Dinner was fabulous. We went for the "family style" basque dinner. The waiter suggested we split one. It's a good thing we did as the one meal filled the table and we took 2 BIG boxes of food home.

Back home we were treated to another beautiful sunset.
